Rora Tanaka
Rora Tanaka is recognized globally as a thought leader in the field of legal technology
and provides legal technology consulting to corporate legal departments. With a
strong focus on risk mitigation and spend management, Rora has extensive experience
in implementing process driven e-discovery, digital mail, and litigation hold procedures;
as well as matter management and e-billing systems.
Rora also founded RORA Client Systems in September 2008. As leading experts on LEDES
formats, RORA Client Systems has developed a suite of tools addressing electronic
invoicing challenges.
Prior to RORA Client Systems and consulting, Rora oversaw Legal Technology Strategy
for Morgan Stanley's Legal Department globally. Rora began her career at Morgan
Stanley as a developer for trades processing and finance applications at Morgan
Stanley New York and Tokyo. Recognized for her leadership and technical excellence,
Rora was asked to join the law department in 2005 in the midst of the historic litigation,
Coleman vs. Morgan Stanley.
Rora received her BA in Mathematics from Smith College and a MPH in Health Systems
Management from Tulane University. Rora was a member of the Governance Committee
of the LEDES Oversight Committee in 2008; co-founder of the Financial Industry Peer
Group, a gathering of corporate legal department managers sharing best practices;
and a frequent speaker on the topic of legal technology and electronic invoicing.
